Benefits of Kendama
Not long after beginning to sharpen your kendama skills, you’ll notice that you’ve unintentionally improved other skills as well. From throwing and catching more accurately to having better reflexes in general, strengthening your hand-eye coordination will bring out skills you may never know you had.
Unlike playing video games, successfully landing kendama tricks requires a high level of both physical and mental awareness. Tuning in to subtle causes and effects and being “in the moment” will improve your kendama game, and also your every day life.
Patience & Persistence
No one is immediately “good” at kendama, although some players progress more quickly than others. This is solely the result of persistence and patience. Practice makes perfect. However, at the end of the day it’s important to always remember that KENDAMA IS FUN! This is usually where patience comes in handy.
Kendama players are generally some of the nicest and friendliest people you’ll meet. It’s hard not to enjoy the company of others who also appreciate the many unexpected benefits that this simple toy has brought them.
